Progress has been made.
The other day, some more of the project was getting done.
One of the things that has developed during the coarse of the project
is the EPA's action to settle a class action suit about a pesticide
plant that was located near by.
Th soil is contaminated with arsenic. A fun thing to have in the
soil. They are going to come and take one 1 foot of the soil from the
street curb to the alley. Property line to property line. Our ground
tested on the strong side in both the front and the back.
Behind and around us the levels varied, most likely from the various
stages of landscaping and construction. But maybe it is the amount of
tree cover during the coarse of the contamination.
Behind us in a single families backyard there is or was towering box
elder tree. It was huge, shade from it cooled most of 6 houses
including ours. It was the only vegetation visible through the
opening. It is now gone. They cut down and stumped it in one day.
It is harsh standing in the alley remembering how large it was.
From inside the memory is not as strong. The sky in its brilliance
has replaced it. The wires connected to the power line cut it into
small sections.
It is very nice sleeping in a bed in a nice space.
